This programme is designed for operational housekeeping team members in hotels and other businesses offering accommodation and can be used by Supervisors and senior Housekeepers to set a benchmark of Housekeeping standards for the whole team. It is also used in internal company management training schemes. For team members wishing to develop their career in Housekeeping this programme will develop the understanding behind professional techniques and form a basis to move onto further formal learning and qualifications. The Professional Housekeeping programme will contribute to the off job training hours for team members undertaking the Housekeeping pathway in the Level 2 Hospitality Team Member apprenticeship and forms a base knowledge for other formal learning and qualifications and would generally meet most requirements at Level 2 and some at Level 3.
Each module in the Professional Housekeeping programme has its own end quiz to ensure that key points are both remembered and understood. There are between 20 – 30 questions depending on the module. The pass mark for each module is 80% The modules are set in a learning pathway and each module must be successfully passed in order to unlock the next module. Questions are in the same style as within the learning part of the module, ie: drag and drop, single choice and multiple choice and there is an opportunity to review the key points before starting the quiz. If needed, incorrect answers can be reviewed before retaking the quiz as many times as needed. On successful completion of the final module in the pathway, Presenting Guest Rooms and Areas Professionally, the certificate endorsed by the Institute of Hospitality is automatically available to be downloaded.
