The Managing Director at Ufford Park Hotel approached Direction Training with a view to using our whole portfolio as a basis for their staff training strategy. Our unique bespoke induction modules are part of our approach to supporting companies and the MD was keen for us to develop these to create a whole training package and ensure a strong induction process for all the team.

The first module concentrated on giving new team members information about the company - the history, values and environment commitment along with developing product knowledge of the hotel and area with the aim of helping new team member feel more confident to manage questions. A questionnaire was added for download that would form a follow through for Managers. The second module focussed on core HR procedures and key business policies with the aim of all team members knowing the procedures even if they didn’t read the handbook! The handbook was added as a download thereby easily recording it had been received. Research was carried out on the local area and the hotel and converted into easy interactive formats – even the HR procedures! The modules were placed at the start of the induction pathways set up for different departments and roles.
As we built a long term relationship, we were asked to develop further bespoke modules.
We set up a dedicated, branded LMS portal on our system and trained the manager taking on the training responsibility to use the system, maintaining support when needed over the years.
