Tommy Miah, the founder of the Tommy Miah Hospitality Management Institute in Bangladesh, contacted us via The Institute of Hospitality, to discuss extending the current scope of his institute, which traditionally focussed on Chef development, into additional business streams and introducing ‘Best Practice’ eLearning training.

The initial drive was to promote Level 2 Food Safety and drip feed the Direction Training catalogue both into the Tommy Miah Institute then via an e-commerce shop to the national marketplace. Working closely with the TMHMI management team, the set up of the project was completed in March 2021.
The project requirements dictated the need of a dedicated Learner Management System and the economic variables highlighted the decision to install an open source solution hosted on the Direction Training servers. Our first choice of an open source LMS is Forma LMS.
Supporting the TMHMI IT team, Direction Training technical team added a woocommerce shop to the existing TMHMI website to enable the site to facilitate the purchase of training for individual customers and corporate businesses alike.
To support this venture, Direction Training supplied adapted interactive marketing materials to the team at TMHMI to enable them to smooth the B2C and B2B process.
